Between Cosmetic Laser Centers^SM and our affiliate the Vein Institute of Pittsburgh^SM, our patients have access to complete vein care.

Cosmetic Laser Centers^SM vein treatments are non-invasive. No needles or anesthesia are used.

At Cosmetic Laser Centers^SM the deliverance of laser energy to the vessels may feel like a pinch similar to a rubber band snap or bee bite. Many leg veins require multiple treatments over the course of a few months before the treatment is complete. During your complimentary consultation the best treatment for your individual needs will be discussed.

Cosmetic Blue Veins
Cosmetic Laser Centers^SM uses the Nd:Yag laser component of the VascuLight system to treat larger, deeper veins. This light emitted from the ND:Yag laser travels through your skin down to the intended vessel which absorbs the heat energy and coagulates. In some instances patients may be better served by other treatment options. In these cases we would refer patients to the Vein Institute of Pittsburgh^SM. Cosmetic Surface and Spider Veins
Superficial veins often require a different technology provided by the VascuLight system. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL™) technology is used for vessels closer to your skin surface utilizing special filters which are selective to superficial blood vessels.

HOW THE VASCULIGHT WORKS

	1. Non-Invasive laser energy is absorbed by hemoglobin and converted to energy.
	2. Due to this heat energy, immediately after the treatment the blood coagulates and the vessel wall collapse.
	3. Over time the vessel is reabsorbed by the body and disappears.

What is treatment like?
The deliverance of heat energy to the vessels may feel like a pinch similar to a rubber band snap or a bee sting. A chilled gel is used to help with discomfort.

How many treatments are needed?
Many leg veins require several treatments over the course of a few months while some may resolve in just a few treatments.

What preparations do I need to take?
You do not need to change your normal daily activities to undergo laser treatments. Limited sun exposure of the area to be treated is required.
