IPL™ Photorejuvenation is a non-invasive treatment that gently corrects the effects of photo aging and sun damage. It also treats a wide variety of facial concerns such as broken capillaries, age spots, benign brown spots, sun induced freckles, mottled pigmentation, and rosacea. It is a non invasive solution that can be tailored to each individual patients needs.

Red blemishes from broken blood vessels and brown spots of pigment from sun damage respond to Intense Pulsed Light. The light is changed to heat energy as it reaches to the level of the collagen beneath the skin surface.

Q: What is IPL™?

A: IPL™ Photorejuvenation is a noninvasive light based treatment that treats skin damage without the disruption of the skin’s surface. It can simultaneously treat a wide range of facial concerns with no or limited “down time”.

Q: How is IPL™ performed?

A: A cold gel is applied to the area to be treated. The hand piece is applied to the area and pulses of light are applied. The settings of the energy and pulses are chosen by our expert staff according to each patient’s needs.

Q: How does IPL™ treat benign vascular lesions?

A: Aging, sun exposure and other factors can cause the appearance of broken capillaries and blood vessels. These spider veins on the face are referred to as telangiectasias which often cause diffuse redness. This redness is often associated with a condition called rosacea. During an IPL™ treatment, the light energy is absorbed by these small blood vessels. Because the vessels absorb this energy they heat up and are destroyed. Over time these vessels are reabsorbed by the body and disappear. Some patients may experience slight bruising at the site where the vessel was destroyed, this bruising will fade within a few days.

A: The term “Photorejuvenation” refers to the non ablative, non invasive treatment of red and brown pigment. Photorejuvenation leaves a smoother, more even toned complexion.

Q:How many IPL™ treatments will I need?

A: The number of treatments varies according to the condition being treated as well as its severity. IPL™ treatments are generally based on a series of treatments over a period of time. On average four to six treatments are recommended. IPL™ treatments provide gradual, and natural improvements to your skin.

Q: What can I expect after treatment?
